PFW: Balmain SS15

The powerhouse family known as the Kardashian/Jenner/Wests' are known to be Balmain fans and after the Spring/Summer Fashion Show located in Paris, it is safe to say they will always be apart of the “Balmain Army.” Kendall Jenner, now supermodel, walked 2 looks in this show while her sister Kim Kardashian and husband Kanye West were in the front row.

Founded in 1945, this Parisian label that goes by the name of Balmain is still one of the coolest and sophisticated brands today. For the Spring/Summer 2015 collection, Olivier Rousteing (the Creative Director) kept Balmain’s signature rock-chicness with an edgy modern twist. Each look has a tough glamourous look, whether it be due to the leather or due to the structure of the garments.

This collection featured a monochrome palette, mixed with a pop of bright red, blue and yellow. Rousteing created grids of sequins, crystals and leather mixed with hard and soft fabrics creating an overall collection filled with black and white fine lines, geometric outlinings and sheer overlays.

He reinvented the definition of sexy while still keeping the signature Balmain vibe and after being the Creative Director of Balmain for only 3 years, Olivier Rousteing proves to all women that although fashion changes from show to show, the desire to feel fierce never does.
