Chanel Fall 2014 Haute Couture Collection Show

Tuesday, July 08, 2014

Haute Couture fashion week in Paris is one of the most glamorous events in the fashion calendar. Designers put together collections made from high quality fabrics, hand detailed embroidery, and they pay extreme attention to the detail put into their garments. The star today was of course Chanel and it is safe to say that Karl has done it again. When asked about the collection, Karl comments by saying, "It's Baroque meets Le Corbusier." Le Corbusier was an architect known for his modern and minimalist designs and his influence was evident in the show, especially while the models walked down the white runway against the minimalist backdrop (which I thought was the perfect coalition with the extraordinarily embellished gowns). The garments had clean lines but still kept that true Chanel look, therefore each look had a modern twist mixed with the Baroque era. The whole show was a recipe for perfection.
See for yourself!
