I wore this outfit on a night out with some friends and since I had a lot of dancing to do, it was important for me to wear something easy to move in and feel comfortable while showing off my amazing dance skills. The outfit I'm wearing is head to toe Free People. I find it very important while purchasing a dress to pick something that can be easily dressed up or down to make it wearable for multiple occasions. I'm a huge fan of bohemian accessories and the cross body bag is a recent purchase I made and it's uniqueness is what made me buy it. The shoes I'm wearing are Jeffery Campbell for Free People and I love the way they look on, especially since the tassels add a little something different and extra.
When I heard DVF was going to visit my college (The New School) I was so thrilled! I couldn't wait to hear what she had to say about the amazing experiences she has had and about the iconic wrap dress and gladly, Diane covered it all. This seminar marked the 40 year anniversary of the wrap dress and to talk about this iconic moment of her career, she said, "It was 40 years ago that I was a young girl and I came to New York and I designed that dress and lived the American dream. I owe everything to that dress." The wrap dress was introduced in 1974 and Diane describes her wonderful creation as "the garment that defined the 1970s and outfitted a generation of women seeking (and achieving) professional, personal, and sexual independence." Besides her own accomplishments, Diane was asked what advice she could give to the audience of students pursuing careers in fashion so they can accomplish as much as she did. Her biggest advice was that "you have to first be serious at the base in order to have fun on the top, you have to try to get an internship because you learn so much, and you need to make sure that what you want to do makes sense and then just go for it!" When you put that all together and follow her 3 steps to success, you can have accomplishments like hers.
Diane Von Furstenberg is a such a strong, inspirational, and independent woman. She is the epitome of a classic successful designer who has evolved over the years into creating more modern designs yet still keeping her originality into her looks. It was a true honor to be able to see her in person and take away all the great advice she gave and make use of it in the future. Hope you guys feel the same way!

Pastel colors are a huge trend this spring season, not just within garments but hair and makeup as well! Pastel tones have a neutrality to them; they are flattering and very easy to incorporate into your outfit, whether it be a pastel clutch or even some pastel locks! Take a look at these pictures and use them as inspiration when you try out the pastel trend!

Spring is the best time to bring out those floral prints. This jumpsuit is so light and comfortable, so it's perfect for the spring. Clogs are really trending right now and the clogs I am wearing are pretty easy to walk in and are super comfy. I paired them with the jumpsuit to give it a little pop of color! Usually jumpsuits are not always so flattering on me, but this one was the perfect fit and it reminds me of the 70s, which is my favorite era for fashion.

One of the greatest nights in New York City is the annual Met Ball. Besides the fact that a new fashion exhibit is opening (guess I'm visiting the Met again, for the 3rd time this year), the Met Ball is the one place where celebrities can wear whoever they want and whatever they want. The different gowns and outfits that celebrities plan months before, are finally shown to the public on this magical evening. However, there are always the ones who look top-notch and the ones who's outfit decisions weren't up to par. Scroll below to see this years' Met Ball best and worst dressed celebs!
Best Dressed:
Leighton Meester looked absolutely stunning in this gold Emilio Pucci gown. The low bust line suits her flat chest perfectly and her ombre hair pulls this whole outfit together.
Cara Delevingne was one of few females wearing pants Monday evening but she completely pulled off this Stella McCartney two piece.
Selena Gomez looked beautiful in her wine colored gown designed by Diane Von Furstenberg. This dress fits her like a glove and the matching lipstick was the cherry on top for this look.
Blake Lively is known to always look amazing on the red carpet and her rose gold Gucci dress allows her to keep that title. The sequins and the long cape in the back made this look so avant-grade yet also so classic. Well done, Blake!
Ahhh, Sarah Jessica Parker. She is the only person who can pull off a gown like this and still look absolutely perfect. She looks so timeless and beautiful in this Oscar De La Renta gown, which is signed by Oscar on the back right of the dress. This Cinderella-styled dress suits her perfectly.
Worst Dressed:
As much as I love Valentino, this gown didn't suit Maggie Gyllenhaal at all. I'm not a big fan of polka dots and the fact that the reddish-orange dots matches the carpet irritates me a bit.
Lupita Nyong'o chose to wear a flapper styled dress made by Prada. The detailing in this dress is impeccable but when you look at the big picture, it's just a big no. In the end it's alright, considering Lupita's dress at the Oscars will overpower every wrong dress she chooses to wear in the next year. Basically, she has immunity until the next Met Ball.
Katie Holmes looked cute, but only neck up. The color of this Marchesa dress is just a big turnoff and it looks like a Halloween costume version of Belle from Beauty and the Beast.
And lastly, Florence Welsh also wore Valentino. I'm just overall confused about this one.

Summer is almost here, meaning we all need to take a trip to the mall and buy a few essential wardrobe pieces for this next season. A misconception of summer clothing is that it is solely based on bright colors and less layers. Although those two ideas may be the case in some circumstances, it is definitely OK to wear black and white or to layer different pieces. Here are a few items for this season that incorporate all of those ideas:
As some of you may know, Birkenstocks have made a huge comeback this past season. They have been in the Spring/Summer 2014 collections of many top designers such as Givenchy and Stuart Weitzman, so why not buy a pair for yourself? They are so comfortable, can be dressed up or down and come in various styles/colors!
Not only are ripped boyfriend jeans the ultimate must-have, but also very sensible. They practically can be worn with anything and are so breezy for the humid temperatures. A leather jacket is a must-have for basically every season, but for the summer months, I suggest a light colored one. For those chilly nights, a pastel leather jacket can keep you warm and also spice up your outfit! Plus, due to the light color, it won't feel as dramatic or dense.
A high-waisted bikini is so 60's yet so 2014. For vintage lovers or fans of Jane Birkin, buying a high-waisted bikini will ensure you to feel iconic. A plain black one is my preference due to the classic look, but many stores and brands carry different kinds with prints and designs. And to complete a beach outfit, a floppy sunhat is perfect to block the sun and feel even more like Jane Birkin.
As for accessories, mirrored sunglasses are considered statements for this summer. They come in so many bright colors that can make any outfit more exciting! A backpack is also a necessity, since more junk can be filled in it compared to a regular cross-body (it is also much easier to carry). And lastly, what is a summer without listening to music? A trendy pair of headphones is a must-have for those music lovers.
Next time you're out shopping, keep in mind these 8 must-haves. It's okay to splurge sometimes, especially when a new season is approaching!

As the summer months approach us, it's time to think about changing our beauty routine. Our skin is going to be prone to the sun, therefore we need some protection in our skin routines. As for our hair, it's going to be in desperate need for some anti-frizz armor. Here are some products you're going to want to keep in your beach bag this summer!
First lets talk about the face. In the summer, I rarely wear any cover up because who wants to cover up a natural tan? But there are those days when you need a little something extra to cover up a blemish and at the same time, you want it to look natural and feel light. The best product for this feeling is the Bare Minerals Powdered Concealer. I use this concealer all year round and it comes in many different shades so you can pick whichever tone suits you best. A little goes a long way and unlike liquid concealer, it's not heavy plus it feels like you have nothing on your face. All you have to do is use a flat brush to apply on your blemishes or to cover up any redness.
As for moisturizing, my go-to product is the Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer with SPF 20. This product leaves your skin with a healthy dewy glow without it looking oily, plus it has SPF which is perfect for protection during the summer months. During my skin routine, I usually apply this first and then apply my Bare Minerals foundation and the best part is that the two products go well together.
As for for lips, the SUGAR lip treatment is hands down the best lip balm. It comes in variety of different shades, such as Berry, Plum, and Petal. Personally, I'm not a big fan of wearing lipstick for my everyday makeup look because I don't like how it feels on and I'm always worried about the color fading. This product is like a lipstick and lip balm combined. This product is perfect for adding a little color to your lips without being over the top during those summer days and since it has SPF 15, it leaves your lips hydrated and protected!
Moroccan Oil is a life saver when it comes to tackling frizzy hair, especially during humid summer days. Not only is this product great for hydration, but also great for damaged hair. You can apply this to damp hair or even after you've styled it, just to give it a smooth and shiny finished look sans fly-aways or frizz!
Coconut Oil is the mother of all beauty products! You can use it in over a 100 different ways, removing eye makeup, as a natural shaving cream, getting rid of age spots, as a moisturizer, and even for cooking! Coconut Oil is a great substitute for tanning oil in the summer and its better for your skin! You can find this product in most grocery stores like Trader Joe's but make sure you use regular sunscreen before to get protection.
