The temperature dropped drastically these past few days and when the weather is rainy and cold, I'm tempted to wear all black. These Rebecca Minkoff oxfords are the newest addition to my shoe closet. What I love about them is that they're comfortable, edgy, masculine and they give me height! I wanted the focus to be on the shoes so I kept my outfit very simple. I wore basic black jeans with an elegant blouse that has a delicate laced hem at the bottom and I topped it off with a large cozy sweater. Although I love fall fashion, I'm hoping the weather starts to get warmer!
Before we all start to pack our suitcases for our summer 2015 trips, we need to think about the most important things to bring with us. As I was browsing through the colorful racks in Anthropologie, the unique structure of this dress caught my eye. The dress gives off an illusion as though a jacket is thrown over it, but it's actually due to the folds on it. It feels very light and comfortable and it translates a unique yet chic look. Since the dress is all white, I decided to pair it with coral wedges to add some color to my entire look.

There is something so elegant about white lace dresses that keep me drawn into this trend. There are so many cliché styles but what I love about this Free People one is the black and white mixture in the lace since it differentiates itself from other white laced dresses. The neckline itself is a statement; the cutout has a seductive and alluring vibe but the Victorian high neck makes it conservative as well as classy. The bell shaped sleeves also add a nice touch because they bring the entire dress together. Since the dress is see-through, I wore an off-white slip underneath, which looks as if it's attached to the dress. This can even be worn over jeans, over a bathing suit or as it is, therefore it's versatility makes me love it even more!
I've always found it a bit difficult to translate my style when it comes to swimwear. This is probably due to the abundance of generic swim suit style options I was surrounded by in the past, but recently there has been a growing trend in vintage inspired garments whether that be swimwear or street style. This growing trend allows us more of a unique variety when it comes to shapes and different cuts, because let's be honest, it's not like there is a lot to work with when it comes to swimsuits. Check out the images below for some swimwear inspiration that is sure to flatter an array of different body types!

This past Tuesday, I had the chance to attend Polyvore's biannual NYC meet up with Dolce Vita and Eva Chen! I didn't know what to expect but it was a very well planned day. First, 20 or so of us Polyvore members met up for breakfast at Maman. which is located in SoHo (the quiche and blueberry bread were absolutely delicious). Afterwards, we walked over to the Dolce Vita showroom where we sat through a fireside chat with Lucky Magazines' editor-in-chief, Eva Chen! It was an honor to hear her life story and to hear about what inspires her daily personal style, since she's such an icon in the fashion world. Following the chat, we ate lunch, had our nails painted by Miss Pop Nails, listened to the Brooklyn-based band Fort Leon perform and met Dolce Vita's creative director, Megan Key. She talked about Dolce Vita's new collection, previous collections and where they found inspiration for their upcoming Fall collection, which is Morocco themed! It was exciting to hear about what inspires others and where they look to to get ideas for either their collections or their closets. Look below to see pictures from the meetup!
